INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE GIRL CHILD OBSERVED BY MOTHER OF ALL NATIONS SCHOOL

As the world continues to evolve, with prior attention being paid to women empowerment and the need to educate and protect the girl child for collective sustainable development, the United Nations in its quest to address and highlight some of the problem’s girls go through everyday set aside 11th October of every year to remind members of the commitment made to protect girls and promote gender equality.

Mother of All Nations Foundation (MoANF) is one of the recognized non-governmental organizations working in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare located within the Madina Municipality. It marked the day with a march pass on the principal streets of Madina – Zongo with messages on placards, some of which include: “If you educate a girl you educate a nation, Allow me pursue my dream, I can also be a President, I can be a plumber, Help stop violence against girls, A girl child is God’s gift to the world, Help support gender equality” and many more profound quotes. This was basically to raise awareness and to draw attention to the support for girl child education and gender equality.

The march was carried out by girls of the Mother of All Nations charitable Kindergarten school. They used the opportunity to enlighten residents of the community on the importance of educating the girl child and allowing them to pursue career choices of their own.

MoANF school was set up to provide preschool experience for children within the community who cannot afford high school fees charged by private schools due to the absence of enough public preschool facilities in the community. The charitable school is accredited and recognized by the Ghana Education Service, it seeks to raise trans-generational thinkers who will serve as change agents transforming our communities one at a time for collective sustainable growth in their communities and the nation at large.
