IFTAR AND EID WITH INMATES, 2024

Mother of All Nations Foundation (MOANF) successfully concluded its 4th annual “Iftar and Eid with Inmates” program, bringing cheer and essential support to inmates. The initiative was commenced in 2021, originally providing food packages to James Camp Prison inmates during Ramadan. This year, MOANF expanded its reach, supporting 250 inmates over Ramadan’s final 15 days and culminating with Eid celebrations at both James Camp Prison and Madina Police Station.

The “Eid with Inmates” created unity, bringing together individuals and volunteers from different communities to help in the preparation of the food, and packaging and engaging in the distribution to the prisons. This collective effort aimed to spread joy and celebrate the end of Ramadan with the inmates.

MOANF’s Executive Director, Mr. Ishaq Abubakar Zico Newton, highlighted the importance of inclusivity. He emphasized that inmates are valuable community members and their well-being matters. These celebrations by MOANF aim to instill positivity and a sense of belonging, inspiring positive change and preparing inmates for eventual reintegration into society.

The inmates’ excitement was palpable during the Eid celebrations. One remarked, “It feels like we’re still part of society, feeling the love and kindness of others.”

“Iftar and Eid with Inmates” serves as a powerful reminder of compassion, empathy, and second chances. MOANF’s program fosters a more inclusive and supportive community where everyone is valued.
