Education And Child Development

EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Our charitable community day care center is dedicated to fulfilling the SDGs, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 1 No Poverty. By providing comprehensive early childhood education to children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, we aim to break the cycle of poverty by ensuring equal access to quality education for all. Our program focuses on nurturing young minds, fostering cognitive development, and laying the foundation for lifelong learning. Through our commitment to these SDGs, we’re striving to create a more equitable and educated society, one child at a time.

By the end of 2024, 248 young children have successfully graduated into various basic schools in a period of eight years. Currently, the school holds a population of 279 children.

READCAMP

This is an out-of-campus youth-led initiative which aims to enhance the reading, writing, and communication skills of basic school students in marginalized communities, thereby fostering a love for learning beyond the classroom. By empowering these students using literacy, READCAMP aspires to contribute to Goal 4 by ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for all, promoting lifelong learning opportunities, and bridging the educational gap prevalent in underprivileged areas. Through this, READCAMP actively supports the global agenda of achieving sustainable and holistic education for every child, thus advancing towards a more prosperous and equitable society. This is held during the long-term vacation of every academic year. Since its initiation in 2015, over 12000 young children in various basic schools in Accra, Kumasi, Volta and Tamale have been greatly impacted.

ADESUA KRUWA

This is a transformative educational initiative aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) in Ghana. This on-campus literacy project is dedicated to empowering public school pupils by providing tailored instructions aimed at enhancing their oral language, communication, and analytical skills. The program also nurtures self-confidence and personal growth, contributing significantly to Goal 4’s objective of ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for all. Adesua Kruwa has been implemented in 6 basic schools within Madina Municipality over the past one year.

BECE TOUR

The BECE Tour is in alignment with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by focusing on building confidence and addressing exam-related stress among students. By empowering students with confidence-boosting techniques and strategies to overcome fears associated with exams, it aims to enhance their well-being and ensure inclusive quality education for all. Additionally, providing prototype certificate samples encourages students to set goals for the upcoming BECE and work diligently towards achieving them, fostering a mindset of ambition and achievement. This program not only prepares students for exams but also contributes to their holistic development aligning with various SDGs in creating a more sustainable and equitable future. The BECE Tour initiated in 2021 has been implemented in over 20 schools within the capital region with tremendous feedback recorded from the students and teachers.
