MASTERCARD STUDENT VOLUNTEERS FOR READCAMP 2018

A Level 200 Architecture student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Mercy Serwaa Appiah, has used the period of her vacation to volunteer as a mentor for the ReadCamp2018 Project to help imbibe into participants, the habit of reading and creative writing skills so as to boost their confidence level and academic capabilities. 

The project took place in the La Nkwantanang / Madina Municipality and targeted at pupils in the primary and Junior High School level.
Mercy Serwaa Appiah who was a mentor for the out of campus literacy project, trained twenty (20) children out of the 400 in Reading and Creative Writing Skills which helped in boosting the self-confidence of the participants.
About the #ReadCamp.

The Read Camp is an initiative of the Mother of All Nations Foundation. It is a literacy project developed to instill in children, a sense of self awareness, self-confidence, improved understanding of concrete and abstract ideas, learning vocabulary and concepts that will shape and transform their persona and attitude towards reading and education as a whole.

The Read Camp Project, since its inception in 2015, has contributed immensely to basic education by inculcating a relatively permanent reading and writing skills in over 1,350 young people with the help of over two hundred and fifty (250) volunteers (Mentors) within the La Nkwantanang / Madina Municipality in the Greater Accra Region organized by Mother of all nations foundation a non-governmental organization that is interested in improving the educational standards of young people in various deprived communities within the country in other to contribute towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
