ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Basic Project is a community based childcare Centre operating as a social enterprise in deprived communities with our first initiative in Madina – Zongo within the Madina Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
The Basic Project serves as a means of strengthening the communities and contributing towards Ghana’s efforts to attain the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) specifically,

- Goal four (4) “Ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning”
- Goal five (5) “Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.”
- Goal Ten (10) “Reduce income inequality within and among countries.”

WHY THIS PROJECT?

This project is designed to provide quality pre-school experience and educational materials to children using our carefully tailored models to suit every child’s needs, especially in deprived communities.
The project is currently ongoing in Madina – Zongo, started in 2014 with only two (2) children, now has a student population of two hundred and fifty (250).
The Basic Project combines the Ghana Education Service system of teaching with the Montessori system to give the pupils a great experience for a massive positive impact in their academic lives.
The aim is to make our model available to every beneficiary-pupil irrespective of their financial standing.

Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today. An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.

CHARITABLE NURSERY SCHOOL

It is disheartening to see a community with a population of over 20,000 with its pre- school going age left to roam around or even hawk on the streets due to lack of finance to take them to the available pre-school facility.
